The USAV Aloha Region's "Team Hawaii" composed of 9 players (5 juniors, 2 sophomores and 1 eighth grader) from Oahu, Maui and the Big Island participated in the 2018 Rebisco National Finals Volleyball Tournament in Pasig, Philippines (Nov 17-23, 2018) winning the Silver Medal and 3 individual awards. Team Hawaii was put together within 2 weeks and competed against 9 Philippine Regional Champion teams and teams from Malaysia and New Zealand. Our players represented themselves, their families, Hawaii and the USA with class. They each gained invaluable international playing experience and made friends from across the Pacific. Team Hawaii will be returning for the 2019 Tournament where there will be additional international teams from Thailand, Kazakhstan and other countries. We had three players on the all-tournament team; Nive Tuileta (Le Jardin) was named Best Setter. Nani Spaar (Kamehameha-Hawaii) was named Best Hitter and MVP. Madisyne Bierne (Punahou) was named 2nd best Hitter.
